Sarah Roberts M.Ed., LMHC
Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Fully Licensed in Florida, Louisiana, Alaska, and Utah with over 10 years of experience
Specialized Focus Areas at Cushing Counseling
As part of my residency, I’m deepening my expertise in:
Sex Therapy and Relational Healing
Couples Therapy and Intimacy Work
Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Somatic Integration
Trauma Recovery in Individual and Relational Contexts
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of work, you can find me fishing, hiking, spending time at the beach, or exploring national parks (I hope to visit them all one day!). I also enjoy podcasts and documentaries about nature, history, and true crime. During virtual sessions, you might even meet my cat—she’s quiet but occasionally likes to make an appearance. I truly believe that humor and authenticity have a place in healing, and I bring both into the therapy space.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor | Cushing Counseling
Compassionate, Evidence-Based, and Trauma-Informed Care
I’m Sarah Roberts, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over ten years of experience in the helping professions. I work with adults and couples, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds as they navigate mental health challenges, life transitions, and personal growth with care and intention.
I’m especially passionate about working with couples, individuals struggling with eating disorders or disordered eating, and those managing ADHD, anxiety, depression, or major life changes. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside clients as they build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and move toward more balanced, fulfilling lives.
My Approach
My therapeutic style is genuine, judgment-free, and direct, while always grounded in compassion. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation—not a test—and that meaningful growth begins with self-compassion rather than self-criticism. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, validated, and empowered as we work together toward your goals.
I take a holistic, evidence-based approach, integrating emotional, physical, and social well-being. My work draws from modalities including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Motivational Interviewing
Trauma-Informed Care
I also bring extensive experience in assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure thoughtful, comprehensive support.
Areas of Focus
Clients often seek me out for support with:
Anxiety, depression, and ADHD
Eating disorders and disordered eating
Trauma and emotional regulation
Relationship challenges and couples work
